BASE 36 — INTERN / GALLERY ASSISTANT CALL (FW 2025/2026)

We’re currently seeking interns and gallery assistants to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with our artists and staff across all stages of project realization — from exhibitions and installations to media production and studio work.

Who You Are:

You’re curious, adaptable, and energized by cross-disciplinary work. Whether your background leans toward visual arts, film, media production, writing, digital streaming, or contemporary cultural trends, you’re someone with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to engage in dynamic, multifaceted environments. We’re especially interested in emerging thinkers and doers who are driven to learn and contribute across artistic and production capacities.

What You'll Do:

Your role will vary depending on our programming cycle, but may include:

  • Assisting with gallery installations and de-installations

  • Supporting documentation, logistics, and behind-the-scenes production

  • Helping with studio prep, artwork transportation, and artist needs

  • Participating in content support and media archival processes

  • Contributing to exhibition planning, research, and public-facing events

No two days are the same. This is not a traditional gallery role — it's a hybrid experience designed for those ready to jump in and grow through direct engagement. You’ll work closely with our core team and receive mentorship on installation technique, production workflows, and how to support interdisciplinary art projects at all stages.

Ideal for:
Undergraduates, recent grads, or early-career individuals (though all are welcome to apply) who are looking to gain tangible experience in contemporary art and media culture.

Time Commitment:
Part-time availability (~10–20 hours/week) is preferred, with flexibility based on project cycles. Hours may shift depending on exhibitions, production schedules, or studio needs. This structure is ideal for individuals seeking real experience without the rigidity of a traditional internship.

Compensation:
This is currently an unpaid position, but interns will receive mentorship, references, and priority access to future programming and opportunities across the Base 36 ecosystem.

To Apply:
Please email a short introduction, your CV/resume, and any relevant references or portfolio links (if applicable) to luka@base36.fm with the subject line: Internship Application – [Your Name].
